---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Slides is a presentation tool for artists & museums designed to turn exported presentations made from tools you are already familiar with and turn them into interactive presentations for public displays.

Slides was built to lower the barrier for telling digital stories in exhibitions. The only thing the content creator has to think about is making their presentation and exporting the project while giving granular control to those that need it.

How does it work?

Slides figures out how many slides and versions of your presentation you have and proceeds to place your slides one after the other in a 2D grid in a interactive environment.

Types of interactions:

The application provides you with two main modes of interaction, the first one is swiping providing a "reel" type interaction in all directions. The second one is normal buttons. all interactions can be turned off or on in the settings-page.

How do I use it?

Export you presentation as individual images. (jpg, png)
If you have videos place them directly in the folder in "ogv" format. if you have multiple versions, just place them in a subfolder of your main one. when you have prepared you folder, choose your main folder in the Settings page of the Slides app (by pressing "S" on a keyboard.)

How can I use it creatively?

One common use is creating multiple folders for multiple languages. See screenshots for example project showing three possible languages of the same presentation. Another great use case is dividing rows with topics of a subject!

A short guide on exporting presentations to Slides

Powerpoint presentations:
Make sure that you export your presentation in the highest settings after selecting to export individual images. Before exporting press the "tools" option in the save box and select highest possible settings.

OGV files:
When converting to ogv, make sure to select highest settings, "10" when using online converter. I have personally tried quality setting "7" without adequate results.

Possible features. V1.0:

Im looking at the following features for a potential full release :
Multi-mode - one interactive area of the screen per column with new animations.
Dynamic Menu  - A menu in a corner based on the folders you have added.
Cross platform exports- Linux/Windows/MacOS

Let me know in the comments if you would be interested in any of them!

Q & A:

Wonky UI: The arrow look strange in this format/the UI in the settings menu looks weird and I can’t get access to all settings. Why!? -Slides is meant to change its size according to the screen and is optimised for (1920x1080) this flexibility makes the ui little bit tricky. Try changing the resolution of your screen. Your welcome to send me screenshots of any issues your having. Especially if your using a normal screen format and are still experiencing issues with the program.

Why can’t I import normal video formats?
-Slides is made in the Godot game engine which only accepts ogv files. Hopefully this will change in the future so stay tuned and make sure to support the project to help make it happen.

Why is my presentation showing a black screen in some places?
-The application only asks how many slides you have in the main folder, that means that if you have any subfolders with fewer slides than in the main one it will still be possible to go there even if you haven’t provided the application with those slides. Make sure to provide an equal amount of slides in each folder to solve the issue.
